Movin' On Up
I'm in the process of converting my blog from Blogger to WordPress. Once I've fully converted I'll figure out the RSS and all that jazz. Not sure if I completely like this template, however. The two post thing up top is nice to look at, but confusing, and I haven't quite figured out how to add content to the footer. There should be a blog roll and "other news" rss links.
I've also "rebranded" for multiple reasons I'll explain when I'm not in the middle of getting ready for work.
Blog in progress...what do you think?

That's a Big 10-4, Good Buddy.
I was watching Smokey and the Bandit last night with my husband, and I got to thinking: blogging is this decade's CB radio.
Oh, and if you haven't seen Bandit, in oh, say, 31 years, I suggest you rent it soon. Come back?
Polish up on your CB slang for a richer experience, while your at it. All the good numbers to you, little brothers. I'm off to press some sheets.

Oops.
Dear Cynthia and Woy--
I had a great time at BlogFest 13. Can't wait for the next one. I really enjoyed meeting the both of you and connecting with other Pittsburgh Blogging Royalty like 2PJ. (Although technically I only met 1PJ.)
In the giddiness caused by bumping elbows with so many creative minds AND a planned date night with my husband, I completely left Finnegan's Wake without settling my bill. My bad. It's not often that we get a baby sitter on a Friday night.
I had the crab dip and a Yuengling. Where can I mail my check for $12?

Up at 3 AM
Tommy was up at about 2 AM and instead of letting him crawl in bed with us, I decided to put him back to bed in his own room. Now everyone is sleeping soundly except for me. Luckily for anyone who *ahem* frequents this site, that means more quality blogging!
"I can't blog at work!" is a frequent lament of mine. Now I suppose if I was really hardcore I'd bring my laptop and try to pirate in on someone's unprotected wireless network. But considering I just gave up my lunchtime gym habit because I could never find the time to walk across the street to workout, that's probably an unrealistic level of commitment.
So I get by emailing myself little tidbits that I hope to remember to blog about before the rest of the world has scooped me. You could call me the Jackie Harvey of the blogosphere.
You may have seen the "How to Make a Panda Bear Grow" email that was circulating around several weeks ago. I decided that this little guy looked like my little guy when he was about 6 weeks old. Uncanny, isn't it?

Favorite Clips of the Day
I never get to write actual posts much, what with the massive corporate web site censoring and my second job as a mom. But I can review lots of feeds with Google Reader and post my favorites to my site via Google Clips. Here are some of my favorites from today.
Dear Wedding Party: Eat Me
I dunno. I think I would have spent the extra money on booze. Or maybe more horses.
Other Stories that Made Me Vomit Today
There was this one.
And this one.
And this one. (Via Dooce)
Check out my other clips here, and get to know the real me through the magic of RSS. And Google. Did I mention Google?

Album Cover Finder
Rick just updated his site with a new Joomla template, so I'd like to take this time to plug his software. Need to add a whole bunch of artwork to iTunes? Want a dedicated search engine that works in concert with iTunes to find liner notes, concert dates, and more for your favorite artists? Then buy Album Cover Finder, available for Mac or PC. It's only $11. And every copy purchased brings me one step closer to becoming a "Lady Who Lunches". Except substitute "Lunches" for "Quit Her Job to Blog Full Time" and "Lady" for "Insufferable Techie Wannabe." I thank you.

New Profile Pic
I've been awfully busy and I just realized that my old profile pic no longer existed. The new one is the album artwork from In the Aeroplane Over the Sea, the Neutral Milk Hotel indie acclaimed album.
If you've never heard of this now defunct band from the 90's, here are a couple of YouTube clips to check out. Also this site for current information on Jeff Magnum. (So did he run off and join the circus, or what?)

Lots of Updates
I am currently composing a post in my head that summarizes the rest of my vacation including our trip to Chicago. Hoping to get that up this weekend. It is safe to say, however, that:
Chicago = Debauchery
In the meantime, finally posted my backlog of pictures to our homepage. Plus I posted a movie from six months ago. I am really slacking. It's shameful.

New Things
Blogger is now blocked by my company's Websense filter, so no more quickie posts between flight arrangements and invoice processing. Oh well. Hopefully my "heavy" usage didn't ruin it for other closet bloggers in my office. Hopefully my Windows login will work tomorrow AM. Dammit, my blog isn't nearly interesting enough to get dooced.
Playing with Google Reader now. Super way to search for and organize RSS feeds. The coolest part is the reader widget you can add to your blog. (À gauche.) While you're in your reader, you click on the "Share" button for the post you want to share, and it automatically clips it to your blog. Super fine. So I'm able to update my blog with articles, videos, and websites I find interesting, even if The Man is trying to stick it to me. (That is, until The Man blocks Google Reader.)
Farewell Gilmore Girls
I know I'm not the only one who sobbed. C'mon. The Smithereens??? "You've given me everything I need"??? C'mon! Pass the tissues.

Recently added Goodle Ads to my blog. You know, so I can earn millions blogging about things that are interesting or useful only to me. It's driving me nuts that the only relevant text it is pulling from is my recent post on gDiapers. Now I've have a big fat ad for Adult Diapers at the top of my blog for weeks.
Hope someone in my enormous audience finds THAT ad useful.
I guess that's Google Ads' way of saying that I need to update my blog more often.
